Time is a trip.
It is the year 2022.
TWENTY TWENTY-TWO
Is it just me, or are we time warping through the years!? The days are long, and the years are short.
2012 was one of my favorite years– and that was a DECADE ago.
2000 Y2K was twenty-two years ago.
LIFE IS FLYING BY
2022
The truth is my 2022 was LIVED.
It was FELT.
There was a lot of discomfort– and a lot of growth.
GROWING PAINS
Trying to navigate the new role as a dedicated HROB flight nurse, and still working full-time nights. Still feeling the burn-out in healthcare. Still wearing a mask at work.
While still being trying to balance being the best mom, wifey and friend that I can be.
Still playing hard.
No one can do it all.
LOVE YOURSELF:
Twenty- twenty two was the year I started showing myself some compassion, because yeah– life IS hard.
I learned how important self care is, and just how I need MY bucket filled. Investing in myself so hard that I could actually feel the different vibration in my soul.
I want my family and friends to get the best version of me, but also I have learned that I deserve the best version of me.
WHAT WORKED FOR ME
- Twenty Twenty two was the year I started therapy– and I am still going.
- It was the year I fell in love with hot pilates– and I am still going.
- It was the year I chose to eat better, because it genuinely made me feel better. It made my skin clearer.
- It was the year I cut back drinking because it genuinely does not serve me.
- The year I let myself show, and feel ALL emotions, not just the “happy” ones.
- The year I finally prioritized my sleep because no one likes zombie mommy.
- I took a break when I needed it. (I spent my birthday morning all to myself.)
- The year I started taking care of, and actually loving the skin I have.
- The year I finally loved my body and genuinely appreciated her strength.
OWN YOUR SHIT
We are all just trying to do our best, but ultimately it is hard to be alive in this world today. We all have our own shit, and no one’s shit smells any better or worse than our own. But if we plant some seeds of kindness in ourselves and others, get enough water, rest and sunshine, & work through our shit– our grass will grow the brightest green you have ever seen.
THANK YOU
If you have made it this far down the post I want to remind you that YOU are enough. You matter, in this space– exactly how you are. You may may or may not be happy with where you are in life, but you can always pick one or two things that make YOU feel good and choose to do it every single day for a week and see how you feel. Next add something else that makes you feel good and try it for two weeks. It is not a race or a finish line. It is a journey– your journey.
Thank your body for all it does for you, every single day. Show yourself some compassion as you would show your friend. Watch the magic unfold, and feel the love flow.
Thanks for coming to my Ted- Talks. 🙂
