Lake Powell is PURE MAGIC
When I visit Lake Powell, I feel the most connected to the universe.
I absolutely love not having any cell service, and getting lost in the incredible stars on stars visible in the black night sky. Floating and exploring the days away– not knowing the time or date.
It is heaven to me. Probably one of my favorite places here on Earth.
The lake itself is completely immersed in red rock, and we have found when we go in late September/ early October the days aren’t nearly as brutally hot, and the water is the perfect temperature.
This year, not only was it Remi’s first time in Lake Powell, but we got to take my 79 year old Grandmother for her first time as well.
You know me, I love doing any thing and every thing with my favorite ladies.
These photos don’t even do justice to catch the majesty of this lake.
I may be bias– but I do believe the way to do Lake Powell is both with a houseboat and a smaller faster boat. The houseboat experience needs to be done at least once in your life. It is SO fun to have a little house on the water and move to a different spot in the lake each day– but it is a lot of work and the houseboats don’t go very fast. The little faster boat allows you to park the houseboat and still explore the giant lake.
SLEEP ON TOP OF THE HOUSE BOAT– TRUST ME. The stars– just WOW.
There is something for everyone in Lake Powell. You can find slot canyons to paddle-board, hikes, cliffs to jump off of, and so much more.
Our Remi girl simply loved to swim ALL. DAY. LONG. She loved to jump off the back of the boat, and play with her cousin “Nollie doggie.” I love to simply float on a tube with a cold drink in my hand. David was in love with wave running this trip! We ALL loved exploring the lake on either boat.
Have you been to Lake Powell, Utah yet!?
