If you haven’t been to southern Utah, you must put it on your bucket list!
Anywhere with that gorgeous red rock— Moab, Lake Powell, the Grand Canyon, even St. George!
This past weekend we went down to Moab with a group of our long time friends. This was the stunning red rock view from our place.
The small town of Moab is PACKED with adventure.
Jeeping, hiking, biking, river rafting, rappelling, sky diving, swimming, golfing, or walking around town, shopping and eating. They even have some bomb coffee, local brews and distillery, a food truck park and locally brewed kombucha on tap!
Moab is a place for all ages to stay and play!
Our highlights on this trip were:
>>> Arches National Park <<<
You cannot go to Moab without hiking to Delicate Arch! It is one of the most iconic sites in Moab.
It is about a 3 mile in and back hike, that can be brutal in the midday heat. Luckily for us we got there early, and it was an overcast day! It would be a stunning hike at sunset, but it definitely gets very crowded as the day goes on. You can check for real time updates on park closures as well live web cams of the park’s entrance on their website.
While in Arches National Park we also stopped and walked around Balanced Rock. You could easily spend hours hiking, driving and wandering among the majestic sandstone rocks of Arches National Park.
>>> Mill Creek Trail <<<
This little gem of a trail is easy to do with kids, and is dog friendly as well. It is just less than 2 miles in and back, and a pretty easy to moderate trail.
WARNING: Your feet will get wet!
Once you get to the waterfall there is a place you can swim and play. The water is a little chilly, but it does feel good in the Moab heat!
Make sure to wear some good water shoes, and bring a dry towel or change of clothes. You can even take a little swim under the fall!
>>> Moab Giants <<<
Moab Giants is a cute little place to stop and spend some time. They offer a trail through time, featuring some very well replicated dinosaurs! They also have a sweet playground, and 5D aquarium and 3D movie. The babies were not quite into it yet, but pretty cool to check out none the less.
>>Downtown Moab<<
It is always so fun to walk through downtown Moab, and just check out all their eclectic little shops and restaurants. For a small little town, Moab is sure packed with culture!
Since I was there last, they have added a cute little Food Truck Park! So naturally, we had to stop and check it out!
Dave always loves to stop and check out the Moab Rock Shop! They have such a great collection of precious stones and fossils from all over the world.
I always love to get some fresh Kombucha on tap from Wild Bloom, or some coffee from Moab Coffee Roasters.
Remi loved swimming, playing with her friends, and going down the slide over and over again! She might even let us take her hiking again ;).
